It’s been a crazy couple of months. Now, more than ever, people are focused on their health, however too many people are looking outside themselves for the answer to their health rather than inward. The truth is, our bodies are equipped with amazing capabilities to adapt, heal, fight, and grow. Unfortunately, most of us spend our days harming our internal mechanisms and abilities rather than supporting the only true defense and healer there is… YOU!
Rather than looking for health in a pill, surgery, or injection, I’d like to focus on how we can support your body from the inside-out to promote healing and recovery. There are a lot of simple, easy things we can all do to support our bodies and cultivate internal health. These include getting proper sleep, good hygiene, drinking plenty of water, eating a variety of nutrient-dense foods, daily exercise, managing stress, limiting sugars and processed foods, and nurturing beneficial relationships.
These actions limit damage and promote health and are basic steps toward better health. In our clinic we deliver neurologically-based chiropractic care and Nutrition Response Testing to more specifically support your health and your family’s health.
Neurologically-based chiropractic care works with the spine and nervous system to promote optimal communication between the brain and the rest of your body. Proper nerve communication results in better function from the muscles, organs, glands, systems, and cells in your body. In fact, one study suggested that immune function is higher in people who are regularly adjusted! That’s one of the reasons why I get adjusted every week.
Nutrition Response Testing (NRT) is a type of functional medicine that looks for nutritional deficiencies in the body that may be causing poor function and a variety of symptoms. We take a whole-food approach to nutrition. Rather than prescribing high-doses of individual vitamins, we believe that whole-food nutrition is a more effective and safer option and can be used with people of all ages and heath statuses. Adequate nutrition is also vital for immune health.
A Personal Note. I did not grow-up "a health nut". I was frequently sick, physically overweight and in pain, and spent a lot of time in hospitals for a congenital heart condition. One of the reasons I am so passionate about chiropractic, nutrition, and holistic health is because when I finally switched the focus inward, toward nurturing health from the inside, I became happier, healthier, and I found my passion.
