What do I mean by HEALTH-care? Let’s think through a scenario. Imagine that you “have a cold”. Your symptoms are head and sinus congestion, cough, fatigue, and muscle soreness. Your goal is to recover as quickly as possible. What do you do?
Many people in this situation reach for cough syrup or some other over the counter product. But what about cough syrup helps your body recover? Seriously, which of the ingredients in cough syrup help strengthen your body and support your immune system? Not one. That’s because cough syrup is not designed to help you heal, it’s designed to manage symptoms. In fact, in my opinion, some of the ingredients in cough syrup can actually get in the way of healing. That’s not HEALTH-care… it’s SICK-care.
Instead of covering symptoms, I like to focus on how we can support your body from the inside-out to promote healing and recovery. In our clinic we use neurologically-based chiropractic care and Nutrition Response Testing to support your health and your family’s health.
Neurologically-based chiropractic care works with the spine and nervous system to boost communication between the brain and the rest of your body. Proper nerve communication results in better function from the muscles, organs, glands, systems, and cells in your body. In fact, research has shown that immune function is higher in people who are regularly adjusted! That’s one of the reasons why I encourage my patients who are sick to get extra adjustments; to promote internal healing.
Nutrition Response Testing (NRT) is a type of functional medicine that looks for nutritional deficiencies in the body that may be causing poor function and a variety of symptoms. We take a whole-food approach to nutrition. Rather than
prescribing high-doses of individual vitamins, we believe that whole-food nutrition is a more effective and safer option and can be used with people of all ages and heath statuses. Adequate nutrition is also vital for immune health and can be used for both acute immune challenges or proactively to avoid illness.
Healthcare costs are insanely expensive. A family of 4 is expected to spend over $8,000 in out of pocket expenses in 2020. Rather than spending that money reacting to illness and injury, wouldn’t you rather invest it in preventing it from occurring? That’s real healthcare.
